Through the Workspace area, you can create unique pathways to use your sounds, effects, and loops in a live setting. And where MainStage really shines is in its ability to create a customized MIDI interface within the program. MainStage provides a very visual user friendly interface as well as excellent patch management capabilities. And while Ableton is an amazingly powerful and stable platform, it can have a steep learning curve. Most music professionals think of Ableton Live as the go to program for using your computer on a stage. MainStage is an offshoot of Apple's Logic Pro application with live performance in mind. ![]() You can use the concert to get started right away, or import the ‘Bread and Butter’ patch into any existing concert.A lot of times after a show, musicians will come up and ask me, what exactly are you doing with your computer to create those sounds? When my answer is MainStage, I get a lot of puzzled looks. The patch itself is called ‘Bread and Butter’. We’ve included both a concert and a patch. This functionality is a sample of what we offer with our MainStage Pads Player line of products. Just press the button and the Pads play – you can then play anything you want on top of them. These are base pads that play underneath everything – they’re the same as our award-winning Pads products, just built into MainStage. We’ve included a sample of Worship Tutorials Pads in this patch as well. This button stops everything! WORSHIP TUTORIALS PADS SAMPLES BUILT IN This button will control the tempo of all the time based effects (delays, arp, etc). This will affect lows/highs of all the included instruments/effects. You can basically turn them into a shimmer type of pad sound. This only affects the Worship Tutorials Pads (triggered by the keys buttons). The ‘Transparency’ knob will roll low end off of the Pads drones. Delay 2: Dotted 8th note delay (controlled by the ‘tap tempo’ button or the patch tempo).Delay 1: 8th note delay (controlled by the ‘tap tempo’ button or the patch tempo).Reverb: A basic (and great sounding) reverb.THIS PATCH INCLUDES THE FOLLOWING EFFECTS: ARP: Arpeggiated synth (16th notes) – this will add a pulse (and a ton of energy) to any song.Synth: This is a high-energy dance synth sound.Strings: You get an orchestra at your command.Pads: Ambient pads (this is different than the Pad drones that can be triggered).Piano: A basic (and great sounding) piano patch.THIS PATCH INCLUDES THE FOLLOWING SOUNDS: Certain sounds are only mapped to certain keys of the keyboard, which are visible in the patch. You can then assign these faders to physical controls on your midi controller to be able to fade sounds in/out at your discretion. You should be able to work through most any worship song using just these sounds.Įach sound/effect is assigned to a fader with the appropriate label. The instruments/sounds we’ve included in this patch are designed to cover a wide variety of keys sounds found in modern worship music. Everything you need comes stock with MainStage.
